Today's topic - Historical preservation in Indiana

Partners in Preservation, Inc., is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3
organization with a five-year track record. They have successfully
nominated over 450 structures to the National Register of Historic
Places. Their consultants work on a per-project basis to prepare National
Register nominations for historically significant properties in the
state of Indiana.
Ms. Ogorek is a published author, public speaker, history advocate, and preservationist.
Since 2003, her company, The Public Historian, has promoted history through writing, tours, seminars, and exhibits throughout the Calumet Region of Illinois and Indiana. She also prepares National Register of Historic Places nominations.
Ms. Ogorek is the author of two major books from Arcadia Publishing: "The Lincoln Highway around Chicago" and "Along the Calumet River."
Prior to starting The Public Historian, Ms. Ogorek was Director of the Matteson Historical Museum for six years and Director of Public relations for a retirement home where she established an archives and museum collection.
She served on the boards of several historical organizations and helped to found the Calumet City Historical Society Museum.
A native of the region, Ms. Ogorek was born in Hammond, Indiana and grew up in Calumet City, Illinois.
She had a classical education balanced between the humanities and science culminating in a Master of Arts in History from Purdue University - Calumet.
